We are delighted to introduce Julie Smallwood, whose arrival brings a wealth of fresh perspectives to our team. We had the pleasure of interviewing her, and here are some insights into her background and aspirations:
1. What were you doing before you joined Advize? Before joining Advize, I earned my Bachelor’s of Science in May 2023 with a degree in Health Care Administration and Management and a degree in Information Systems. While exploring career opportunities, I was employed at Macy’s in the fine jewelry department.
2. When were you first introduced to healthcare? Healthcare has always intrigued me. With family members involved in the industry as nurses and administrators, I initially considered pursuing nursing when applying for colleges. However, I later realized that the administrative side aligned better with my interests and skills.
3. How did you and Advize come together? I interned for Qlarant in 2021, where I was introduced to FWA. During my job search after graduation, a mentor at Qlarant connected me with Jeanmarie, facilitating my introduction to Advize.
4. If you could only eat one cuisine for the rest of your life, what would it be and why? Without a doubt, steak and baked potatoes (with plenty of sour cream). Baked potatoes, in my opinion, reign supreme among potatoes, and you can never go wrong with a well-prepared steak.
5. Describe a dream project or goal you’d like to accomplish in the next five years? Over the next five years, my aspiration is to continue growing and learning. I’m eager to deepen my understanding of the industry and eagerly anticipate the myriad opportunities that Advize will offer.
